Terms of Service

1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of CivDraw, including civdraw.com, app.civdraw.com and api.civdraw.com (the "Service"). The Service is operated by CivDraw ("CivDraw", "we", "us"). Our legal entity name and address will be added before these Terms are finalized.

By creating an account, or by using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use CivDraw on behalf of a firm, you confirm that you're authorized to accept these Terms for that firm. This is version 2026-09-draft.

2. The Service

CivDraw generates CAD drawings (DXF files and SVG previews) from parameters you enter, using standards data we encode. Paid plans add features such as a firm title block, AI-assisted form filling and API access, as described on our pricing page. We may add, change or remove features over time.

3. Professional responsibility

• CivDraw is a drafting aid. It does not perform engineering, and it does not replace the judgment of a licensed professional engineer.
• Drawings are generated from published standards and from the inputs you provide. You are responsible for your inputs, and for checking that every value suits your project, site and jurisdiction.
• Every drawing must be reviewed, modified as needed, and signed and sealed by the licensee in responsible charge, under the rules of the state where the work is done (in New Jersey, N.J.A.C. 13:40).
• CivDraw never applies a professional seal, stamp or signature to any drawing.
• Values marked UNVERIFIED on a drawing have not yet been checked by a licensed engineer for CivDraw and must be confirmed before use.
• We don't warrant that any drawing will be accepted by a municipality, agency or other reviewer.

4. Accounts

Give us accurate account information and keep your password and API keys secure. Each login is for one person. You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@civdraw.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

5. Plans, billing and renewal

• The Free plan costs nothing and needs no payment card.
• Paid plans are subscriptions billed in advance, monthly or annually. They renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown on civdraw.com/pricing and exclude applicable taxes.
• You can cancel at any time from the Billing page in the app or by emailing hello@civdraw.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep paid features until then, and your account then moves to the Free plan.
• Except where the law requires otherwise, we don't refund partial billing periods.
• We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change takes effect on your subscription.
• Annual plans paid by invoice are due on the terms stated on the invoice.

6. Usage limits

Each plan includes a monthly number of drawings and, where applicable, AI extractions, as shown on the pricing page. When you reach a limit, new generations pause until the start of the next calendar month (UTC) unless you upgrade. We may adjust the Free plan's limits with notice. We may temporarily raise an account's limits, for example for a pilot.

7. Your content

You own the parameters you enter, the files you upload (such as a firm logo), and the drawings the Service generates for you. You give us a limited license to host, process and display that content only to provide and improve the Service and to keep it secure. We don't claim ownership of your drawings, and we don't sell your content.

8. AI features

On plans that include AI extraction, text you submit is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to suggest form values. AI suggestions can be wrong. Review every value before you generate a drawing. See our Privacy Policy for how AI inputs are handled.

9. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Service. For example:

• don't break the law or infringe others' rights
• don't try to access accounts or data that aren't yours
• don't interfere with the Service or get around rate limits or plan limits
• don't share logins between people
• don't resell or white-label the Service without a written agreement with us
• don't scrape the Service or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows

10. Availability and support

We work to keep the Service available but don't promise uninterrupted service, except where a separate written agreement (such as an Enterprise contract) says otherwise. We may suspend the Service for maintenance or security.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

Except as expressly stated in these Terms, the Service and all drawings are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, CivDraw is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

13. Indemnity

You'll defend and indemnify CivDraw against third-party claims arising from your projects, from your use of drawings generated by the Service, or from your breach of these Terms.

14. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. You can close your account and delete its data by email request to hello@civdraw.com, sent from your account's email address. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms. Sections 3, 7 and 11–15 survive termination.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Courts located in New Jersey have exclusive jurisdiction.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Each version has a version string, shown at the top of this page. For material changes, we'll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect, and we may ask you to accept the new version.
