Frequently asked questions

No. CivDraw produces standard DXF files, a format that AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BricsCAD and other CAD tools open. Most firms open the DXF in their CAD software to add site-specific details and insert it into their sheet set.

Not on its own. CivDraw is a drafting aid. It produces a clean, layered DXF computed from published standards, with sources cited and unverified values flagged. Your team finishes the drawing, and the PE in responsible charge reviews it, makes any changes, and seals it. CivDraw never applies a PE seal.

Plans are priced per firm, not per user. Free includes every drawing type and 25 drawings a month, with no credit card. Team is $149/month with 500 drawings a month. Firm is $399/month with 2,500 drawings a month. Multi-user firm accounts (up to 3 users on Team, 15 on Firm) are coming soon; until then each plan covers one login. Annual plans get 2 months free. Enterprise is priced to your firm; contact us.

No. The Free plan needs no credit card, and it includes every drawing type.

New drawings pause until your allowance resets on the 1st of the month (UTC), or you can upgrade. If you need more for a pilot or evaluation, email us and we can raise your limit.

Key NJ standards (RSIS, NJDOT details, and DEP stormwater and soil erosion and sediment control) are encoded for supported drawing types. Federal standards such as AASHTO and ADA apply nationwide. Outside New Jersey, check every value against your local requirements.
